We Must Draw in Our Horns

Twelfth night has come and gone

The tree is down, the holly lost its thorns

The dismal days go on forever

We must draw in our horns

Easter will soon be here

The bulbs are sprouting in the lawns

But the carpet is worn out

We must draw in our horns

Summer sun is warm upon the face

A holiday my mind adorns

Oh don’t be daft we’re pensioners

We must draw in our horns

Days get shorter nights draw in

I’m frightened that the future’s borne

When will it end the hidden fear

We must draw in our horns
