Jar of Jam
Rich blackcurrant –
Midnight purple gloss
Encircled by force of glass.
This ambrosia
enshrined on market shelf
is artisan labour,
the knowledge of families,
honed through generations.
Yet a modern conceit
THE CORPORATION
bought the name
purchased the knowledge
and stripped away livelihood.
In the new jar of jamŽ
Is there love?
Are there the smiles and laughter
from the family factory floor?
How does it taste?

his poem, Jar of Jam by Guy Malkerson, is in remembrance of the Pozzy and was a part of the first Homend Poets collection. . .
